About The Mythic Masculine
In the 1970’s the Second Wave feminist surge triggered a response from modern men to do their own work. For some, this led to the bloom of the “mythopoetic men’s movement:” led by poet Robert Bly, Jungian psychologist James Hillman, and poet & storyteller Michael Meade.
After a decade of visibility, the movement largely went underground to do a kind of collective soul work.
Perhaps it’s no surprise that in the wake of “Me Too”, men were once again faced with the clear invitation to rise and face the personal & collective shadow of men.
The Mythic Masculine is an attempt to bridge the insights & gaps of the previous generation into the new century, as well as breathe new life into the mythopoetic relationship between masculinity & our collective thriving future.

About the Founder
Ian MacKenzie is a filmmaker, writer, and mentor.
For over 10 years, he’s been tracking the global emergence of new culture. From the desert of Burning Man to the heart of Occupy Wall St, he has sought and amplified the voices of visionaries, artists and activists who have been working toward planetary system change.
Ian is best known for his films Sacred Economics, Lost Nation Road, Amplify Her, Dear Guardians, and Occupy Love (directed by Velcrow Ripper), and The Village of Lovers.
